The carrier can be coated with one of the most common types of adhesives:
- acrylate
- natural rubber
- synthetic rubber
- silicone adhesive
Note: The quality of the tapes and the duration of use are always a combination of the type of adhesive and the type of carrier. For example; an adhesive with low UV resistance can be increased with a proper carrier. These aspects are always in relation with each other.
Acrylate
Features:
- adhesive strength increases in duration of use
- resistance against high temperatures
- high UV resistance
- high ageing resistance
Natural rubber
Features:
- high adhesive power
- adhesive strength increases in duration of use
- low ageing resistance and temperature resistance
- low UV resistance (UV resistance can be increased with a proper carrier)
Synthetic rubber
Features:
- high initial adhesive power
- good adhesive power at normal conditions
- limited temperature resistance
- low UV and ageing resistance
Silicone
Features:
- high adhesive power
- excellent ageing and UV resistance
- high temperature resistance
- high flexibility
